• First ever Industry Night by the postgrade, for the postgrade on 25th October, 2007. Google, Microsoft, Infosys, Managesoft, NextByte and Excom participated on the night. All of them had stalls followed by presentation from Microsoft and Infosys.

• International Mother Language Day:
  
  
• To celebrate the fantastic linguistic diversity of our department, CSSEPG and the Language Technology group organized an afternoon tea on Thursday, 21st February 2008 from 3pm to 4pm in the ICT Building, Level 4. This is a regular yearly fun event by CSSEPG where everyone come prepared with a traditional greeting in their mother tongue (even if it's just "G'day mate") and share some small traditional sweets or cake.

  • Postgrad Pizza Lunches.
    The Group will continue the pizza lunch tradition of the past, with pizza lunches appearing sporadically after postgraduate seminars, CSSEPG General Meetings, etc.
    
    
  • Postgrad Afternoon Teas.
    Postgrad Afternoon Teas have re-started. They will be held most Fridays from 11pm till 12pm in the ICT level 4 staff room. Biscuits, tea, coffee, fairy-bread, baklava and anything else that we can think of or you can suggest will be provided.
    
    
  • Postgrad Sport Groups.
    The Group will gladly continue supporting CSSE postgrads to form sport teams needing financial aid for competition entrance fees, etc. Currently supported groups include:

  • 2nd Floor Microwave
    The Group has purchased a microwave for the ICT 2nd floor kitchen with the Department, Honours, 440 and MU-CSA students. This will benefit the large number of coursework MIT and MSSE students who are based on this floor, who have not had after-hours access to a microwave.
